We need the rain, but what Houston area residents could do without is the large damaging hail that has accompanied storms in Houston this spring.
Tuesday night was no acception. We started getting pictures emailed into FOX 26 Facebook Fan page around 10pm last night. Those images showed golf ball size hail, Southwest of Houston in Wharton.
The hail that fell in Hitchcock was much larger. It smashed rooftops, windows, signs and even a number of police cruisers.
One trailer park off FM 2004 in Hitchcock was extremely hard it. Hail made it's mark on nearly every home in the park.
One trailer looked like it was riddled with bullet holes but instead it was hail that did all the damage.
The Hitchcock Police department says not only did the hail damage the exterior of the cars, it managed to damage the expensive electronics on the inside.
Seven of the departments eleven cruisers were damaged.
They say despite the number of cars damaged it will not impact the service it can provide to the community.
