The City of Hitchcock contracts animal control services to the Galveston County Health District Animal Services.

• During normal business hours, citizens can directly contact Galveston County Animal Services at  (409) 948-2485.
• After hour service request must be made through the Hitchcock Police Department at 409-986-5559.
• The Hitchcock Police Department will contact Galveston County Animal Control, after hours number request line, and provide the details of the incident.

Based on the details of the incident, Galveston County Animal Control will prioritize the call and dispatch, accordingly.
